ANDERSEN AIR FORCE BASE -- Registration for the 16th Annual You Got Talent Family and Teen Contest here ends Aug. 31.

This year's event will give Team Andersen a chance to compete in 11 different categories ranging from singing and dancing to comedy and drama. The performers will be able to compete in solo, group, instrumental, singing and a variety of other categories.

The purpose of this program is to provide additional opportunities for families and youth to participate jointly in a recreational or educational activity; contribute to developing creative expression; develop an appreciation of the arts; and determine the winners in each category and recognize the most talented Air Force-wide.

The first and second place winners in each category will be eligible to compete at the Air Force level.

First place winners at the Air Force level in each category will win $500 and their choice of an electronic device, and the best of show act will receive $1,000 and three airplane tickets.

"My goal through this is to see the performers have fun and a successful audition," said Tech. Sgt. Glenn Garcia, 36th Force Support Squadron Hot Spot NCO in charge. "It would be great if we had one of our Airmen or Team Andersen youth representing Guam."

The 36th FSS is continuing its search for volunteer judges and a date for the contest will be determined once the requirement is met. The event will be held in the Hot Spot Gym during the month of September.

For more information, to register or volunteer as a judge, call 366-2339. Performers can also schedule an appointment to use the Hot Spot gym for practice.
