Office of Vital Services – New Policy

Effective December 10, 2013, due to a shortage of staff, window service at the Office of Vital Statistics will be limited to the first 30 customers in the morning (Monday to Thursday) and the first 30 customers in the afternoon (Monday to Thursday, closed Friday). Numbers will be available starting 8 a.m. in the morning and 1 p.m. in the afternoon. Priority is given to senior citizens (55 years and older) and people with disabilities. TUMBLING FOR TOTS
Tumbling for Tots, an interactive play program for kids & parents, is now available Hotspot Gym just down the walkway from the bowling center.  Hours of operation are Mon-Fri from 9 a.m. to noon and closed holidays and down days (schedule subject to change due to base exercises, official unit functions, etc).  This is a self-directed activity.  A Family Advocacy staff member will be available Tuesdays and Thursdays to talk with parents.  Some simple rules for this program: Children will not be left unattended.  No food or drink permitted in the play area.  Parents must clean-up after their child.  No shoes allowed in the play area.  Children must abide by rules that will be posted on the bouncy castle in the play area.  For more information, please call the Hotspot at 366-2339.

TARAGUE BEACH PAVILION RESERVATION POLICY

    Hours of use are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
    Customers must make reservations at Outdoor Recreation in building 25018.
    Official unit functions may reserve the pavilion up to 30 days in advance.
    All other parties may reserve the pavilion 2 weeks in advance.
    There is no camping around the pavilion area.  Please contact Outdoor

Recreation at 366-5197 to reserve a camp site.

    Customers are responsible for ensuring that guests in attendance are awareof, and follow safety rules and regulations.
    Customers are responsible for cleaning the pavilion after use.
    Please keep music at a moderate level.

LAWN SERVICE AVAILABLE
Too busy to mow your lawn?  Then call Outdoor Recreation at 366-5197 and make an appointment for their on-base lawn service.  Cost is reasonable…just $25 for duplexes and $35 for single units.  Price includes mowing and trimming to base housing standards.  Water blasting is also available.  Lawn service is provided Sundays and Mondays.  Schedule your appointment soon.

VEHICLE RESALE LOT
Looking to buy or sell a vehicle?  If so, you might be interested to know that Outdoor Recreation operates a Vehicle Resale Lot in the parking lot near the Hotspot.  If you’d like to sell a vehicle, please stop by Outdoor Recreation to obtain the required resale lot parking permit.  The permit fee is just $10.00 and entitles sellers to place their vehicle on the resale lot for a 30-day period.  For more information, please call 366-5197.

The YES Program is an on-base youth volunteer program funded by the Air Force Aid Society (AFAS) and jointly administered by AFAS and Air Force Family Member Programs Flight. This program offers high school-aged dependents of Active Duty Air Force members an opportunity to learn valuable work skills while having a positive impact on their base communities. YES allows all certified and enrolled high school students to “bank” volunteer dollar credits toward their post-secondary education/training.
