Naval Base Guam to Test Emergency Alert System

SANTA RITA, Guam – U.S. Naval Base Guam will conduct a test of its emergency alert system April 23 from 1-2 p.m.

During the date and time indicated, the system commonly referred to as the Giant Voice will deliver the following message: “This is only a test. No further action required.”

The Giant Voice at Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station Guam, South Finegayan housing, Flag Circle, I Puntan at Nimitz Hill, North and South Tipalao, Camp Covington, Apra View, Navy Munitions Site, U.S. Coast Guard and Polaris Point will be activated.  

Residents and patrons in the surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they hear increased activity associated with the test.
