ASAN, Guam (July 27, 2015) – Sailors of USS Chancellorsville (CG 62) will spend a portion of their port visit giving back to the community of Guam July 28 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

At Agana Heights Elementary School, more than 20 Sailors will help staffers clean up the campus in preparation for the beginning of the upcoming school year.

At C.L. Taitano Elementary School, approximately 30 volunteers will join school personnel to prepare the campus for the return of students and faculty.

At the Sinajana Community Center, about 15 Sailors will give presentations and participate in sporting events and arts and crafts with youth summer campers.

Chancellorsville is the latest addition to the Forward Deployed Naval Force (FDNF) in Japan, from her previous homeport in San Diego. Chancellorsville, with a crew of more than 350 Sailors, is performing theater security cooperation engagements and maritime security operations while maintaining stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
