Fong to lead McCool Elementary/Middle School
AGANA HEIGHTS, GUAM — Geoff Fong is joining the DoDEA Guam District as the new principal at CDR William C. McCool Elementary/Middle School. Fong served previously as the principal at Yokosuka Middle School, a Department of Defense School, located in Yokosuka, Japan. His other previous administrative assignments include assistant principal at Sembach Elementary School, Landstuhl Elementary Middle School, Kaiserslautern American High School, Ramstein Elementary School—all located in Germany—and Kubasaki High School located in Okinawa, Japan. Additionally, Fong served as a staff development specialist for the DoDEA Europe Area Office and the Kaiserslautern District.
Fong participated as a facilitator, presenter, coach and consultant on a wide range of professional development projects with teachers, administrators and parents throughout DoDEA. He has presented workshops and conducted training nationally and internationally for several organizations to include: The National Staff Development Council and The International National Council of Teachers of English. Fong has also conducted workshops in Cooperative Learning, Teaching Written Expression, How to Conduct Effective Meetings, Brain-Based Learning/Teaching, Proactive Discipline, Equity and Change.
Fong received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Physical Education from the University of California at Davis and a Master of Education degree from Michigan State University.
“Geoff brings a strong instructional background to the Guam District and the McCool Elementary/Middle School,” said DoDEA Guam District Superintendent, Dr. Steve Bloom, “He is a hands-on leader who will be directly involved in the instructional process and outreach to engage students, parents, community and command in school improvement efforts.”
