High school students participating in the GCC Sustainable Technologies & Environmental Education Program (STEEP) over Christmas break will showcase the green container home models they’ve designed and built on Friday, January 6th, starting at 10 a.m. in the Student Center Training Room (Room 5108). Their models are based on concept of converting shipping containers into livable, sustainable homes. The 22 in the program students researched existing container home designs and integrated modifications to better suit Guam’s tropical environment.

STEEP coordinator Francisco “Kiko” Palacios says up to four groups will display their model homes. A model container home winner will be chosen based on the most votes. Palacios is inviting GCC employees, students and visitors to cast their votes for a winner at the Student  Center Training Room 5108, this Friday, January 6th, between 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The student groups will be talking about their models to those interested.
