Cmdr. William C. McCool Elementary and Middle School seventh graders held their second quarter awards assembly at the campus on U.S. Naval Base Guam Feb. 12. This included the Reading Counts and Honor Roll awards. The Reading Counts award was given to Eve Estrada who earned 500 points.

Of the 83 seventh graders, 17 were on the honor’s list. The list ranged from a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0-3.4. Thirty-two seventh graders received the High Honors awards, with a GPA range of 3.5-3.9. Sixteen students received the Principal’s List award for earning straight A’s and a 4.0 GPA. Sixty-five of 83 seventh graders earned honor roll awards for second quarter – congratulations!

At the end of the award’s assembly, our Principal Don Christensen gave some good words of advice about how even though the school year is half over, it will not get easier and we need to continue to do our best. This year is getting harder as we progress, and we should listen to our teachers to get all the information that we need, and to remember to be good.
