The annual Pink Ball gala will be on August 6
The Pink Ball Organization is excited to announce that its annual Pink Ball gala will be on Saturday, August 6, 2016, at the Dusit Thani Hotel ballroom. Dubbed as "Pink Rocks", this year's celebration of hope, compassion and love will be a night of rocking fun and camaraderie with the local community who strongly support Guam and its endeavors. The pink stage will be headlined by an international artist, Constantine Maroulis, best known for being a 4th season American Idol finalist and his lead role in the Broadway musical Rock of Ages, where he received a Tony acting nomination.
"We're now on our third year and as in the past two years, we are giving one hundred percent of the proceeds from the Pink Ball to Guam Cancer Care," said Ms. Leah Beth Naholowaa, Pink Ball Chair. "This will continue to assist Guam Cancer Care's Outreach and Education programs as well as core programs such as Patient Navigation, Financial Assistance, Cancer Prevention and Screening, and Patient Transport Program for cancer patients in Guam," she further explained. Since its inaugural gala in 2014, Pink Ball Organization has donated over $100,000 to Guam Cancer Care.
Guam Cancer Care has already seen over 1,000 local cancer patients and provided more than $3.6Million in external resources that directly supports in the fight against cancer. More than $800,000 in direct financial assistance was awarded to eligible local cancer patients needing access to cancer care. All this was achieved in just five years, since Guam Cancer Care opened its doors to island residents in 2011. But, they can, and will do more with the continued help from the local community.
The Pink Ball Organizing Committee is comprised of Lou Leon Guerrero (Honorary Chair), Leah Beth Naholowaa (President & Chairwoman), Joy Santamarina (Vice President), Derrick Quinata (Secretary-Treasurer), Rubyjane Buhain-Redila (Marketing-PR Officer), Deedee Camacho (Board Member), Raquel Ramos (Board Member), Renz Ramos (Board Member), ably assisted by Charly Lauron, Karina Quito and Nona Perez of Guam Cancer Care and committee members, Delia de Castro, Lin C. Manalo, Jina Rojas, Armi Batoyon and Martin Estabillo.
"The Pink Ball family urges everyone in the community—men and women in business, families and individuals who have had their lives touched by cancer - to support Pink Ball and to join us in this worthwhile celebration," Ms. Naholowaa said in closing.
