ASAN, Guam (June 21, 2016) – Military, federal and local law enforcement will conduct training at the former South Finegayan housing area and at the Naval Base Guam Ordnance Annex (Naval Magazine) June 23.

Local residents in Dededo and Santa Rita will hear helicopters and small arms with simulation ammunition between 6-9p.m. The training is part of the weeklong Exercise Tempest Wind.

Tempest Wind is a routine exercise in which multinational ties with countries in the Pacific region are strengthened through military training. This year’s exercise differs from previous years in that it is a domestic counterterrorism scenario designed to improve coordination and synchronization among U.S. military, U.S. interagency elements and local law enforcement in response to transnational terrorist threats to the homeland.
