SANTA RITA, Guam (Jan. 22, 2016) – U.S. Naval Base Guam (NBG) Security, Military Working Dogs and Explosive Ordnance Disposal Teams were dispatched immediately to the scene after the Regional Dispatch Center notified NBG of a bomb threat at approximately 10 a.m. today at the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) High School – Guam High School – located on the Naval Hospital Guam compound.

Children and teachers were evacuated from the school and relocated a safe distance away.  The explosive-detection dogs were able to conduct a thorough internal and external sweep of the school, with negative results of a bomb.  The “all clear” was provided on scene at approximately 11:30 a.m., but children were delayed momentarily outside the school for safety concerns before being let back into the building.

The threat was determined to be a hand written note found in the girl’s bathroom.
