Public meetings postponed
ASAN, Guam (Oct. 4 2013) – Due to the federal government shutdown on Oct. 1, 2013, the U.S. Navy is postponing public meetings related to the Mariana Islands Training and Testing (MITT) Draft Environmental Impact Statement/Overseas Environmental Impact Statement (EIS/OEIS). Public meetings will be rescheduled and the public notified of the new meeting dates. Public comments on the Draft EIS/OEIS will still be accepted during the government shutdown.
THE FOLLOWING MEETINGS ARE POSTPONED:
- Guam, Oct. 7, 2013, 5 – 8 p.m.: University of Guam, Anthony Leon Guerrero Multi-Purpose Room 129
- Saipan, Oct. 8, 2013, 5 – 8 p.m.: Pedro P. Tenorio Multi-Purpose Center, Susupe
- Tinian, Oct. 9, 2013, 5 – 8 p.m.: Tinian High School, San Jose Village
- Rota, Oct. 10, 2013, 5 – 8 p.m.: Sinapalo Elementary School, Sinapalo I
The Navy has prepared a Draft EIS/OEIS to evaluate the potential environmental impacts associated with military readiness training and testing activities conducted within the MITT Study Area.
