Tamuning (Guam) Wednesday, July 20, 2016 – GTA announced today its partnership with Catholic Social Service to host a Back-to-School Supply Drive to help less fortunate school children on Guam. This is the third year to host a school supply collection.
The local telecommunications company will accept donated school supplies for students in the first through fifth grade from now until Wednesday, August 3rd.
Kamia Dierking, GTA Senior Manager for Marketing and Communications, says, “It’s very exciting to see this program in its third year. We know we are making a difference in the lives of our youth by providing them with the school supplies they need to start the new school year off right. At GTA, we are committed to helping our local community so this program gives us an opportunity to make a positive impact and support those in need.”
In addition to accepting donations, GTA is also donating 250 mesh backpacks and 500 school supply kits to assist Catholic Social Service in distributing supplies to families in time for the new school year.
Diana Calvo, Catholic Social Service Executive Director, says, “We wish to thank the community for continuously giving so generously to assist our families in need. We are grateful for the support we receive through our partnerships with groups and companies like GTA.”
Items being accepted include spiral notebooks, composition notebooks, line paper (loose leaf), #2 pencils, crayons, Elmer’s glue, scissors, and hand sanitizers. Donations can be dropped off at any GTA retail stores or at the Catholic Social Service offices in Barrigada Heights behind the Department of Revenue and Taxation, Monday through Friday, between 8:00am to 4:30pm.
