Come and experience the music of the award-winning Guam Territorial Band (Gold Award Winner 2017 Carnegie Hall) as they once again host the Gamagori Junior Band from the Aichi Prefecture in Japan.
Since 2013, these two bands have shared music in each other's home towns through friendship concerts and public performances.  The Gamagori Junior Band has performed for various school in Guam during their last visits including Harvest Christian Academy and F. B. Leon Guerrero Middle School.  GTB has visited Gamagori in 2014 and 2016 sharing their music with the residents of the City of Gamagori.  The 2014 trip was special as it marked the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the City of Gamagori.
In 2015, with the assistance of the Salvation Army in Guam, the two bands presented a benefit concert titled HANDS ACROSS THE SEA - BANDING TOGETHER for the people of Saipan who had endured the aftermath of Typhoon Dolphin.
The 2017 HANDS ACROSS THE SEA concert marks the Gamagori Junior Bands third visit to Guam.
The concert will feature a performance from each band separately and will culminate in a combined performance with an ensemble with more than 80 performers.  Guest musicians from Saipan will also join in this performance.  Traditionally, the concert concludes with the combined ensemble performing the theme song - Hands Across the Sea March by American military band composer - John Phillip Sousa.
One night only - don't miss this opportunity to listen to two great bands as they share their music in a gesture of friendship.
