NAVFAC Marianas: 3 PA Memos remain open through Sept. 14
ASAN, Guam – Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Marianas reminds the community of the availability of three Programmatic Agreement (PA) Memos for public review and comments through Sept. 14, 2017.
PA Memos provide an opportunity for interested members of the public to participate in the Section 106 consultation process required under the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA).
The following PA Memos provide new cultural and natural resources information associated with planned construction projects and are available on the NAVFAC Pacific Cultural Information (CRI) webpage at http://go.usa.gov/kZWG. (Please note the URL is case sensitive).
J-001B PA Memo #1 Finegayan Forest Enhancement on Naval Base Guam Telecommunications Site (NBGTS). This project proposes forest enhancement through construction of ungulate perimeter fencing to exclude the introduced ungulates that endanger the native vegetation. This is to promote forest enhancement on the northern portion of NBGTS and a southwestern portion of Northwest Field at Andersen Air Force Base (AAFB).
P-103 Phase 2 Revised PA Memo #1 Water Well Development-Design and Construction on Andersen Air Force Base (AAFB). This project proposes to conduct design studies and construction of water well facilities at AAFB. The wells would provide approximately 1.2 million gallons of water per day, and would be used to support increase in personnel, facilities, and operations associated with the military relocation. This PA Memo has been amended to reflect changes in the Area of Potential Effects (APE) that were necessary as a result of design requirements.
P-290 PA Memo #2 Design and Construction of Earth Covered Magazines and Ordnance Pads on Andersen Air Force Base (AAFB). This project proposes to construct 12 earth covered magazines and two ordnance pads. This PA Memo includes both design and construction phases of the project. The earth covered magazines construction is in fulfillment of support facilities and infrastructure requirements identified for reduction of explosives safety risks for military munitions.
