SANTA RITA, Guam (April 13, 2015) – Members of U.S. Naval Base Guam’s Antiterrorism Force Protection (AT/FP) teams from various afloat and ashore commands will participate in a Field Training Exercise, called “Citadel Protect/Aquaman,” April 16 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.   Aquaman, designed to protect afloat assets as well as maintain security of the port in a life-like escalating scenario, will be conducted in and around Apra Harbor.

This exercise is routine in nature, but base residents may hear blank machinegun and small arms gunfire (to include blank 50-caliber) coming from the inner harbor during the conduct of this exercise.  In addition, NBG’s Giant Voice, the base’s vital mass communication and advance warning system, will be used at the Polaris Point and Coast Guard stations of Apra Harbor to announce use of this exercise area.
