POLARIS POINT, Guam (May 16, 2017) – From right to left, Rear Adm. Stephen Williamson, Director of Fleet Maintenance, U.S. Pacific Fleet, and Capt. Douglas A. Bradley, submarine tender USS Emory S. Land (AS 39) Commanding Officer, eat with Yeoman 1st Class David Lomeli and Machinist's Mate Fireman Kameron Finchum at Diner 39, the enlisted mess deck, during a shipboard tour, May 16. Williamson toured the ship and other repair facilities in Guam to assess current maintenance operations and capabilities. Land and USS Frank Cable (AS 40), the U.S. Navy’s only two submarine tenders, are both homeported in Apra Harbor, Guam, and provide maintenance, hotel services, and logistical support to submarines and surface ships in the U.S. 5th and 7th Fleet areas of operation.
