SANTA RITA, Guam (Aug. 25, 2016) - A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at Barracks 16 on U.S. Naval Base Guam Aug. 25.

The project consisted of repairing and modernizing 22 rooms each with two beds and closets, a bathroom and kitchenette. Contractors also replaced existing exterior windows and doors to withstand 170-mph wind velocity; and exterior doors have finish hardware with a card key system.

Plumbing, fire protection system, power (outlets), energy efficient lighting fixtures, cable TV and telephone systems have been modified and upgraded to meet current code requirements. BEQ 16 was originally constructed in 1952.

Representatives from Naval Base Guam Housing, Naval Facilities Engineering Command Marianas, and contractor P&S Construction Inc. attended the ceremony.
