Sailors and Marines to Visit Guam, Volunteer in Community

ASAN, Guam (Nov. 9, 2016) –Sailors and Marines from USS Comstock (LSD 45) will take part in a community relations project in Asan-Maina during a port call Nov. 10 from 1-4 p.m.

Volunteers will work alongside the mayor’s office staff for various village beautification projects including cleaning and painting nearby parks, and clearing vegetation and trash.

Comstock, a Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship, is part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group and, with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is operating near Guam as part of Exercise Keen Sword 17.
