Sea Cadets attend boot camp at Naval Base Guam

This summer, the USN Sea Cadets Pacific Guam held its Summer Youth Boot Camp at U.S. Naval Base Guam. Beginning on July 12th And culminating on July 21st by marching in the Guam Liberation Day Parade in which it finalized the summer boot camp as a great success.

With over 30 young recruits who participated this year many described it as one of the best Guam ‘sea Cadet boot camp experience in recent times. Not to mention that the female recruits this summer out-numbered the male cadets for the first time ever and making this particular boot camp a very special one indeed. At times, our female recruits out-shined, out-performed and out vocalized their male counterparts. Ok, a little over-embellishing along with lots of encouragement can go a long ways. Not to take anything away from the boys but they were outnumbered, so that explains that. Our male cadets were nothing less than outstanding by the way and I need to commend them on doing their part in making this such a memorable experience for all.

I’d also like to thank U.S. Naval Base Guam, the USNS Frank Cable, Naval Submarine Training Center Pacific-Guam and all of the great naval personnel that helped to accommodate our Sea Cadets and our Summer Youth Program.
