Toys for Tots season concludes in Guam

Marine Corps Bae Camp Blaz Communication Strategy & Operations

DEDEDO, Guam – Marine Corps Base (MCB) Camp Blaz transferred all donated toys to its partners officially concluding the 2020 Toys for Tots campaign on Guam. With the help and support of all our partners and contributors, this year over 9,800 toys were collected on Guam, going to children in need and spreading a message of happiness and hope this holiday season, while also contributing over $74,000 to various stores across Guam.

“Despite the pandemic, our campaign was able to raise 9,817 toys with all the overwhelming support we received from the local community, our partners and the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation,” said Col. Bradley Magrath, Commanding Officer, MCB Camp Blaz. “We want to thank all our partners, volunteers and anyone who was able to contribute to the campaign. Their selflessness, charity and dedication to the community ensured the success of the Toys for Tots campaign.”

This year, we continued to partner with the Guam Chamber of Commerce, Salvation Army, Catholic Social Services, and Matson along with various other government entities, non-governmental organizations, and local businesses for toy collections, awareness, and distribution.

“We understood that 2020 was going to be a challenging time because of the current economic climate,” said Catherine Castro, President, Guam Chamber of Commerce, “But our community has come through with their generous outpouring of support for the Toys for Tots program and we are so thankful for every kind and thoughtful gift contribution. Thank you, Guam, for bringing hope to many children this Christmas!”

If you are in need this holiday season and would like to receive a toy, please contact Salvation Army at (671) 472-9822 or Catholic Social Services at (671) 635-1442.

Toys for Tots, a 73-year national charitable program run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, provides happiness and hope to disadvantaged children during each Christmas holiday season through the gift of a new toy. The toys, books and other gifts collected and distributed by the Marines offer these children recognition, confidence and a positive memory for a lifetime. Last year the Marine Toys for Tots Program fulfilled the holiday hopes and dreams of 7.3 million less fortunate children in 800 communities nationwide by distributing 18.6 million toys. Since 1947 over 265 million children have been assisted and 584 million toys distributed. For more information, visit or
