GUAM, June 1, 2017 – United Airlines today celebrated the 30th anniversary of its service between the A.B. Won Pat International Airport Guam and Fukuoka Airport in Japan. United operates one flight a day between Guam and Fukuoka, Japan’s sixth largest city. United is the only airline operating nonstop service between Guam and Fukuoka.

“As Guam’s hometown airline, United is proud to celebrate the success of the Guam-Fukuoka service,” said Sam Shinohara, United’s managing director of operations Asia/Pacific. “United’s commitment to the Guam market and community extends beyond our Guam hub operations. United’s network to six cities throughout Japan further supports not only the airline’s business case but also Guam’s tourism and economy. We are proud to be the only carrier that has provided Guam-Fukuoka service uninterrupted for the past 30 years.”

Guam Visitors Bureau President and CEO Nathan Denight said, “We are excited to celebrate with United today as the Guam-Fukuoka route is important to Guam’s Japan visitor market. As we congratulate United on the success of the route, we look forward to continuing to work with the airline on building Guam’s visitor industry and economy.”
