GUAM, July 5, 2017 – United Airlines celebrated the 35th anniversary of its service between Guam and Manila during a ceremony Wednesday, July 5 at the Antonio B. Won Pat International Airport on Guam.

With 13 flights a week between Guam and Manila, United offers the most direct flights between the two destinations. Each week, United operates 11 nonstop flights and two one-stop flights via Palau between Guam and Manila.

United is the only carrier on Guam that offers a Medical Transport Program from Guam to Manila, where many island residents seek medical treatment. The program allows passengers to be transported on stretchers.

In addition to providing the critical service for those seeking health care, United helps the large Filipino community on Guam visit family and friends in the Philippines. Nearly 43,000 Filipinos live on Guam, making up more than one-fourth of the island’s population, according to the CIA World Factbook.

“As Guam’s hometown airline, United is proud to mark 35 years of nonstop flights connecting Guam and the Philippines,” said Sam Shinohara, United’s Managing Director of operations Asia/Pacific. “United’s Medical Transport Program is very important to our island community as many Guam residents seek a wide range of health care services in Manila. United remains committed to providing our customers on Guam with convenient, safe and reliable service as Guam’s hometown airline.”
