Andersen Middle School welcomes new Principal for SY 2018-2019

Agana Heights, Guam – Department of Defense Education Activity Guam, Community Superintendent, Mr. Jimmy Journey is pleased to announce the new Principal of Andersen Middle School. DoDEA Pacific South, Guam Field Office would like to extend a warm “Hafa Adai” and welcome to Mr. Joseph Myles.

Mr. Myles brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership experience to this position which will benefit our students, staff, and school community. He is committed to the development of student achievement and student success. As a former Soldier, who served for 21 years with the U.S. Army, he understands the uniqueness of the military culture.

In his last assignment, Mr. Myles served as Assistant Principal at Robert D. Edgren Middle/High School in Misawa, Japan. Prior to joining DoDEA, Mr. Myles served 17 years with the Muscogee County Public Schools in Columbus, Georgia in the capacity of classroom teacher, Assistant Principal, and Principal. He is very excited to be joining the Andersen Middle School learning community.

Mr. Myles earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources from Faulkner University in Montgomery, Alabama and his Masters of Science degree in Human Resources Administration from Central Michigan University. He earned his Educational Endorsement from Paine College in Augusta, Georgia and School Administration and Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Troy University. He is married to Marian Sterling Myles. They are the proud parents of six sons.
