DoDEA Pacific South, Guam Field Office announces Keith Henson, Guam HS Assistant Principal

Keith Henson was born in Coral Gables, Florida, but spent most of his childhood and teenage years in Georgia. After serving four years in the U.S. Air Force he attended the University of Georgia where he graduated with a BA in English and German Literature.

Mr. Henson began his DoDEA teaching career in 1992 as an English and German teacher in Lakenheath, England. He remained in the UK until returning to Valdosta State University in Georgia to complete a MA in Special Education. After graduating, Mr. Henson again returned in 1999 to DoDEA as an English Language Arts teacher at Seoul American High School in South Korea. Mr. Henson then worked as an Instructional Systems Specialist in the Korea DSO until accepting a position as an assistant principal at Kadena High School, Okinawa, in 2001. In 2002 Mr. Henson returned to Korea as the principal of Seoul American High School. He remained in the Korea district until 2010 where he also served as principal of Pusan American School and Daegu American School. Mr. Henson then spent two years working as headmaster in an international school. He returned to DoDEA in 2012 where he has spent the last five years as a teacher for special needs students and ELA 12 teacher. Mr. Henson is currently assigned as assistant principal at Guam High School for the 2017-2018 school year.

Keith and his wife Yumi have a 12-year-old son who will be an eighth-grade student next year.
