Farmers, food entrepreneurs, and community members wanting to strengthen the identity and improve the sales of their grown-in-Guam products are invited to a special workshop series being hosted by the University of Guam Land Grant Extension Service. The 5P Agricultural Marketing Workshop Series will be held over five sessions on June 9, 10, 11, 13, and 15, 2026, at the UOG Agriculture & Life Sciences Building.
Each session will focus on one of the five P’s of marketing — product, price, place, promotion, and people — while highlighting practical business experiences and market development strategies specific to agricultural and value-added products. Participants will learn from UOG Associate Professor of Agricultural Economics Kuan-Ju Chen, UOG Professor of Global Resource Management Fred Schumann, and representatives from local food businesses, including ASAP Bakery, Asiga, Ice Una, American Chocolate Factory, and Sunday’s Ice Cream.
The workshop series will showcase marketing strategies specific to local, sustainable, clean label, and traceable food products. Case studies and discussions will demonstrate how agricultural producers and food businesses can better address changing consumer preferences, strengthen their product identity, and increase market opportunities.
The sessions will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the UOG Agriculture & Life Sciences Building in Room 127, with the final session held in Room 125.
Registration is available at https://url.uog.edu/ag-marketing. The registration fee is $100 for all five sessions. Scholarships are available for 25 selected farmers and producers who indicate interest on the registration form.
