The SNAP-Ed Program under the University of Guam Land Grant Extension Service invites community members ages 18+ to participate in a free nutrition education workshop series titled Summer Glow: A Fresh Approach to Healthy Living.

This four-class series is designed to help adults build practical skills for healthier everyday living through small, achievable changes in grocery shopping, meal planning, and daily routines. Each class will feature a light food tasting inspired by fresh, simple ingredients.

Participants may choose between two workshop series:

  • 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays, June 3–24; or

  • 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays, July 1–22.

The workshop series will be held at the new University of Guam Dr. Lucio C. Tan Student Success Center, Room 236, across from the UOG Field House.

Under the leadership of UOG Land Grant’s registered dietitian nutritionist and SNAP-Ed coordinator, Lenora Matanane, SNAP-Ed educators Katrina Nguyen and Ella Macatugal will deliver interactive lessons covering:

  • setting the stage for healthy habits;

  • building a wholesome diet;

  • understanding food labels and ingredients; and

  • best practices for healthy living.

Participants who attend at least three of the four workshops will receive free wellness items to support their healthy habits.

This workshop series is part of UOG Land Grant’s and the SNAP-Ed Program’s ongoing commitment to empowering Guam’s communities with practical, culturally relevant tools for healthier lifestyles while also highlighting UOG’s new Student Success Center as a welcoming space for community wellness.
