The University of Guam has begun campus recovery efforts following the passage of Super Typhoon Bavi as employees assess facilities, clear debris, and prepare for the safe resumption of normal operations.
University officials are asking the campus community to exercise caution when traveling to campus, as roadways and surrounding areas may still have debris, flooding, or other storm-related hazards.
As previously announced, Finakpo’ Session C classes have been delayed until Wednesday, July 8, when the University also plans to reopen its campus to the public. Should any campus facilities remain unavailable, deans and faculty will communicate alternate instructional arrangements directly with affected students.
“Our first priority is the safety and well-being of our students, employees, and visitors,” said University of Guam President Anita Borja Enriquez. “We appreciate the patience, resilience, and cooperation of our campus community as we work together to restore campus operations.”
The University will continue assessing campus conditions and will provide updates as recovery efforts progress. Members of the campus community are encouraged to monitor official University communication channels for the latest information.
