Guam Brewery's first chef and brewer's table to celebrate craft food and beer culture

(October 16, 2019 – Tumon, Guam) – The Guam Brewery Tap House (The Tap House), Guam’s innovative craft beer and pub concept in Tumon Bay, announced the date of is first Chef and Brewer’s Table by The Guam Brewery, a five-course craft food and beer pairing dinner event scheduled for Wed., Oct. 23. Chef Jared Preuc and Head Brewer Mike Converse have teamed up to design a menu that celebrates locally-inspired craft food with a seafood theme and Guam’s freshest craft beer.

Chef Jared Preuc said, “We’ve been wanting to showcase the synergy between our craft kitchen and The Guam Brewery. We are happy to launch the first in our series of pairing dinners to highlight the culinary flavors of Guam and offer our customers different flavors from our kitchen.” 

The Chef and Brewer’s Table by The Guam Brewery will offer two seatings at 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. on Oct. 23 and is open to the first 50 guests who sign up. The cost per person is $65.00. Tickets can be purchased through The Guam Brewery’s website, theguambrewery.com, or in person at The Tap House.

Preuc added, “Our Head Brewer and I have exciting menus planned for our series of pairing dinners. The October event will present a variety of seafood flavors paired well with our brewer’s award-winning beers. Our chef and brewer’s dinners are perfect for craft food and beer enthusiasts, as a great date night or time out with family and friends.”

The Chef and Brewer’s Table by The Guam Brewery – Oct. 23 Menu

1st Course: Chef’s Ahi Poke Taco paired with The Guam Brewery’s Guam Gold Cream Ale

2nd Course: Seafood Salad, a delicious combination of shrimp, squid, carrots, celery, cucumbers, green beans, cabbage, red onions tossed in Thai dressing,  paired with The Guam Brewery’s Tumon Bay Hoppy Blonde Ale.

3rd Course: Seafood Bouillabaisse, with shrimp, squid, local white fish, and served with garlic bread, paired with The Guam Brewery’s Island IPA.

4th Course: Salmon Wellington served over rice, Bok Choy, and finished with a Miso Cream Sauce paired with The Guam Brewery’s Mansanita Amber Ale.

5th Course: Deconstructed Local Banana Lumpia topped with vanilla ice cream paired with The Guam Brewery’s Paseo Porter

Preuc was raised in Guam and honed his culinary skills in Hawaii under the guidance of notable Pacific Rim chefs such as Roy Yamaguchi and Sam Choy. He recreates local flavors and favorite Chamoru dishes as pub-style dishes that pair perfectly with the award-winning craft beers or enjoyed on their own. Preuc also infuses some of the dishes with The Guam Brewery beers to complement the flavors. Preuc aims to create dishes that islanders love to eat, and he enjoys presenting local flavors and traditional dishes in contemporary ways and using the best local ingredients.

The Guam Brewery was recently voted Guam's Best Brewery in Pika's Best of Guam 2019. Head Brewer Mike Converse is an award-winning brewer, winning top honors in craft beer competitions across the U.S., winning gold medals for his honey rye ale, porter ale, Bushwhacker, and amber ale.

UPCOMING EVENTS

The Tap House has added more Sip and Paint events in response to the demand for this Tuesday night craft beer and art experience. Enthusiasts can enjoy fresh craft beer as they explore their creative side. Seats are available for the Oct. 22 Sip and Paint event, and November dates have been added – Nov. 5, 12, 19 and 26.
