(TRINCOMALEE, Sri Lanka) – U.S. Navy Capt. Robert Baughman, Commander, Navy Expeditionary Forces Command Pacific and Commander Task Force Seven Five, based in Guam, presents the Sri Lankan Commander of the Eastern Naval Area a gift representing a latte stone, an ancient Chamorro symbol, as a token of gratitude for his hospitality during closing ceremony of Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Sri Lanka 2017 in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka, Oct. 6, 2017. CARAT is an annual, bilateral maritime exercise series designed to boost interoperability between partner nations that contributes to regional security and stability by sharing best practices and cooperation in response to shared maritime security challenges.
