NAVAL COMPUTER AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS AREA MASTER STATION, Guam – A small group of Marines with the III Marine Expeditionary Force, Special Operations Training Group (III MEF SOTG) will conduct training near Route 15 along the back road to Andersen Air Force Base in the area of Pagat in Mangilao and the former Andersen South housing area, and the Barrigada military training area.  This training will be conducted between the afternoon of Tuesday, June 11, and concluding mid-morning, Thursday, June 13.  During the evening of Wednesday, June 12, there will be a brief requirement for traffic to stop in the vicinity of Andersen South at about 8 p.m.

Marines will transport to and from Andersen South and Barrigada via helicopter and ground transportation to conduct training in an urban environment onsite.  As a result, local residents in the vicinity may experience increased aircraft noise.

This evolution is part of a small exercise designed to increase Marines' proficiency with essential tasks and basic infantry skills in an urban environment to support the unit's mission.

Further questions regarding this exercise may be directed to Capt Bender (787-2457) and GySgt Pavlus (787-3412).  Questions regarding other Marine Corps training or operations in Guam, please contact Maj Fisher, MCAG Public Affairs Officer, (355-2340).
