Soldier's Medal Award Ceremony for Sgt. Naim Chisolm at U.S. Naval Base Guam

SANTA RITA, Guam (June 19, 2019) - Sgt. Naim Chisolm was awarded the Soldier’s Medal for heroism, in a ceremony at Torpedoes and Tomahawks at U.S. Naval Base Guam, June 19. On March 24, 2018 Chisolm was at Spanish Steps, when he saved two women and a toddler from drowning and being pulled by the strong rip current. The Soldier’s Medal was established in 1926 and is awarded to any person of the Armed Forces of the United States, distinguished by an act of heroism that must have involved personal hazard or danger and the voluntary risk of life under conditions not involving actual conflict with an enemy. Chisolm hails from Elizabeth, New Jersey and is currently assigned to U.S. Army Public Health Activity on NBG as a Food Inspection Sergeant. Congratulations Sgt. Chisolm and thank you for your service and bravery!
