U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Nelson Roman, a base defense operations center controller for the 36th Security Forces Squadron, receives Linebacker of the Week recognition by the 36th Wing Command Team on Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, Nov. 12, 2025. He expertly maintained 100% fighter aircraft availability during two Force Protection Condition changes at a remote airfield by co-authoring tailored security protocols and managing restricted access. His proactive adjustments streamlined security protocols, mitigated operational risk, and earned him recognition and a coin from the detachment commander.
