There are a number of good Japanese restaurants on Guam and I always enjoy going to a new one for the first time. Uomaru Honten Japanese Restaurant is actually a surprising find. We were told about this by our friends, Hideto “Pancho” Yanase and his wife Sue, who own Kai Japanese Restaurant.

Looking for good Chinese? Kar Kar has some of the best overall dining values on island. You can get a complete meal here that will fill you up without emptying your wallet! Freshly prepared Chinese and local items are what makes Kar Kar one of the island’s favorites. Lunch and dinner specials start at $5.00.

Good old Joe has done it again! Yes, Vitale’s has expanded their menu by adding some new seafood entrees, many of which are made with Shrimp! His menu now features calamari rings, Del Mare ocean shrimp, spaghetti with shrimp, Del Mare ocean shrimp spaghetti or fettuccine, and fettuccine with shrimps ($16.95).

I have heard it on good authority that Papa’s held its soft opening on Dec. 19. For those few of you who don’t know what Papa’s is, take a look at this picture and imagine being inside of this facility looking out at that vast panorama sweeping from Hagatna to Two Lover’s Point!

For a number of years loyal customers have been flocking to Hafa Adai Cafe in the mornings and especially on Saturdays for their favorite breakfast items (local/American, Chinese, Chamoru).

When I am asked to recommend a spot for great ramen, I suggest Menkui Ramen without hesitation!

I have been enjoying their authentic ramen dishes for nearly four years.
