I had the distinct pleasure of being asked to emcee the special gala dinner fundraiser for St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School for the second year. The quality of education is exemplified by each student attending.

Just look at this photo of PROA’s Big Feller Trio ($14.75). Marvelous, isn’t it? The oval mound of moist, flavorful red rice partially obscuring the porcelain ramekin of finadene offers a solid contrast to the salad greens and bronzed stack of Proa’s famous BBQ.

What a difference a great steak makes, or should I say, a great steak tradition and brand! Yes, the magic word and name is CAB®, or Certified Angus Beef®, which is an assurance that the meat you eat has incredible flavor, is both tender and juicy, with incredible marbling.

Talk about innovative thinking! The Pacific Star’s management team found a way to satisfy the appetites and budgets of their military guests and families by opening the Pacific Star Cafe for dinner with an a la carte menu with a universal appeal.

I never did make it to Latte Bistro under the former management! When I heard from my primo Joe B. that I needed to try out the food at the Latte Bistro I thought it best to go sooner than later and I’m glad I did.

When I first wrote about Tapanade during my “sneak peak” in January 2014, I was greatly impressed by the sophistication and style of Tapanade, both for its ambitious menu and avante garde ambiance. I’m a sucker for art and their larger than life Picasso re-prints captured my mind.
