The Hilton’s Islander Terrace has seen many food trends come and go and they have continuously strived to keep ahead of the game by being among the first to use induction warming and cooking technology. Buffets are a fine balancing act and there are many finicky and picky eaters out there in the dining public.

I’m often asked about where to get the best seafood dinner. It’s been a bit of a challenge since so much of our seafood is imported. We do have some restaurants that specialize in seafood. How about eating great seafood only a few feet from the ocean? That narrows down the number of candidates.

Coastal Cuisine has hit the shores of Tumon and the word out is “It’s Beachin’”!!! Yes, the buzz that had been swirling around the construction and opening of Beachin’ Shrimp in the old Bully’s location has diminished and changed to the hum of a cash register!

Of the many places to visit along San Vitores Road in Tumon, one of the most intriguing and colorful has to be the Green Lizard Tiki Bar & Grill, or just “Green Lizard” for short! This is a brainchild of SlingShot entrepreneur Peter Wahl (Pedro) who thought it was a good idea to expand on his existing business with another destination.

It was Saturday night and we were on the lookout for place outside of Tumon where we could casually enjoy a well-prepared meal with a glass of wine. It was Zee who first came up with Hagatna’s Katre Bistro and I eagerly concurred that this was the right answer! It had been some time since our last dinner at Katre.

There’s a brand new eatery that recently opened for business on the ocean side of Beach Road directly fronting Oleai Beach Bar & Grill. I’d been following the “buzz” about The Shack on Facebook and knew that there was a lot of interest being generated by this family enterprise, which can be easily summed up as a labor of love.
