The Village of Mangilao and Mayor Nonito Blas officially announce the Fifth Annual Donne Festival will be held Sept. 12 to 14. The Donne Festival highlights the “donne,” Guam’s hot pepper, and its popularity throughout the island.

Mayor Blas, Vice Mayor Allan Ungacta, Office Staff, and the Mangilao Donne Festival Committee members along with the residents of Mangilao are inviting everyone to attend!

This year, the village of Mangilao is proud to partner with Farm to Table in launching a Neighborhood Farmers Market which will have a soft opening on the Saturday of the festival. Local farmers and agricultural producers will be showcasing some of the favorites from the farm as well as new produce and products made with local ingredients.

One of the most popular draws to the Donne Festival are the competitions, which attract amateur chefs from around the island to win the spot of best “kadon pika” (spicy stew), “dinanche” (peper sauce), etc. Best “pika (spicy) dessert” will be added to this year’s lineup.

As in previous years, the festival will include live entertainment, demonstrations, games, and great food. See the tentative calendar below, and follow Farm to Table Guam’s Facebook page for updates on daily events.
