As Dusit Hotels & Resorts, a division of Dusit International, continues its fast-paced global expansion, the group has announced the appointment of Carl Gagnon as Regional Vice President Operations for Guam and General Manager of Dusit Thani Guam Resort. In this dual capacity, Mr. Gagnon will oversee the entire brand’s island portfolio, including Dusit Beach Resort Guam, Dusit PLACE, and ayview Hotel Guam, while contributing to the broader strategic framework shaping Dusit International’s worldwide growth in the years ahead.
A veteran hotelier with nearly three decades of international leadership, Carl Gagnon brings a distinctive blend of strategic precision, creative innovation, and refined hospitality savoir-faire to his new role. His career spans iconic brands such as Sofitel, Fairmont, and MGallery, where he successfully repositioned landmark properties, guided major openings, and consistently elevated guest satisfaction and financial performance benchmarks across Asia.
Prior to joining Dusit, Mr. Gagnon held multiple senior leadership roles, notably contributing to the opening of one of the latest Fairmont luxury hotels within Seoul’s iconic Parc1 Complex—a defining project that reimagined the city’s contemporary skyline. He also served as Area General Manager for Accor Vietnam, and held leadership appointments at two of the region’s most celebrated addresses: the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila, a flagship landmark of Southeast Asian hospitality, and the legendary Sofitel Metropole Hanoi, where he contributed to elevating the luxury experience while preserving its timeless grandeur and cultural prestige.
Now based in Guam, Carl Gagnon steps into a defining chapter for both the island and the Dusit brand. His mission extends beyond operations encompassing leadership development, guest-journey excellence, and the continued positioning of Guam as a leading leisure destination within the Pacific.
