Dusit donates over 200 toys to tenth year anniversary Toys for Tots in Marianas
(Tumon, Guam December 2019) - Understanding the joy that comes with receiving a toy for Christmas, the generosity of Dusit Thani Guam Resort resulted in a successful donation of over 200 toys this year towards the Toys for Tots program.
From games and dolls to bikes and even a drivable child-sized sports car – the gifts were purchased by employees representing every hotel department.
“We are grateful for this opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our local children, especially at this time of year when it means the most,” said general manager Dean Huntsman.
This is the second time Dusit has participated in the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program in the Marianas.
Last year over 8,000 toys were collected on Guam and more than 2,000 in the CNMI, all going to children in Guam, Saipan, Rota and Tinian.
Toys for Tots, a 72-year national charitable program run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, provides happiness and hope to disadvantaged children during each Christmas holiday season. The toys, books and other gifts collected and distributed by the Marines offer these children recognition, confidence and a positive memory for a lifetime. It is such experiences that help children become responsible citizens and caring members of their community. Last year the Marine Toys for Tots Program fulfilled the holiday hopes and dreams of 7 million less fortunate children in 800 communities nationwide. Since 1947 over 258 million children have been assisted.
