Public invited to Freedom Rocks Festival on U.S. Naval Base Guam July 4

SANTA RITA, Guam (June 18, 2019 ) – The public is invited to the MWR Guam Freedom Rocks festival scheduled for Thursday, July 4 at U.S. Naval Base Guam (NBG) - Polaris Point.

The gate at Polaris Point opens at 3 p.m. and the event kicks off at 4 p.m.

A military ID or visitor pass is not required. However, all guests aged 18 and older are required to have a valid U.S. ID (i.e. Guam driver’s license or U.S. passport) to enter Polaris Point for the event. The ID card does NOT have to be REAL ID compliant for this event.

Las Vegas-based reggae band, The Majority, is scheduled to perform at 7 p.m. followed by a 10-minute fireworks display. There will be live entertainment by local dance group Talent Box and band John Dank Show. The event will also feature a static display of Navy equipment, rides for kids, and food and drink vendors.

The following is a list of prohibited items: drones, weapons, personal fireworks, back-packs, grills, glass containers, coolers, large bags, tents, recording devises (audio or video), outside alcohol, pets, rollerblades, skateboards, and roller-skates. Marijuana and other drugs are also prohibited on military installations.

The following is a list of allowed items: small bags or purses, umbrellas, towels, and folding chairs.

Parking along the roadway leading to Polaris Point is prohibited. There will be ample parking inside the compound.
