In preparation of the 12th Festival of Pacific Arts 2015, the Guam Council on the Arts and Humanities Agency (CAHA) and the Forums, Workshops and Seminars Committee, 12th Festival of Pacific Art will host a five-day workshop to develop children’s books in indigenous languages. The purpose of the workshop is to have these stories published before the 12th Festival of Pacific Arts.
Workshops are free and will be held every Saturday in August (August 1, 8, 15, 22, & 29, 2015) from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the CAHA Gallery located in the Terlaje Professional Building, 1st Floor, Hernan Cortez Avenue in Hagåtña.
Teachers and individuals who have an idea for a children’s story in Pacific indigenous languages are encouraged to attend the workshops. Seating is limited and on a first come first serve basis. Participants must attend all 5 workshops. Registration deadline is July 29, 2015.
The Indigenous Children’s Books Workshop is part of the “Connect Me, Create Me, Promote Me” Workshop Series sponsored by the Guam Visitors Bureau.
