HAGÅTÑA, Guam (16 December 2021) – The Guam Women’s Chamber of Commerce ends the year by unveiling Guam’s first Women’s Business Center (WBC) on Monday. The mission of the Guam Women’s chamber is to advance women in business through advocacy, networking, mentorship, and access to resources.

The Women’s Business Center boasts up to 1200 sq. ft. of usable space for its members and women in business. It has a private conference room, workstations and an ergonomically designed area for workshops or classes.

Laura Nelson-Cepeda, President of the Guam Women’s Chamber of Commerce states, “This is a remarkable milestone for our community and women in business. It is an honor for our Women’s Chamber to make Guam’s first Women’s Business Center a reality. The completion comes at a perfect time as we continue to support, develop and elevate women in business for years to come.”

A women’s business center for Guam has been the vision of its founders and after eight years, the organization can witness this center for women come to life. The WBC is fitted to host its members, Elevate Cohort (GWCC entrepreneurship program students), mentorship meetings, workforce development activities, entrepreneurial use, and its workshops and classes.

“The WBC has been a long time coming for our Women’s Chamber. Once all the pieces fell in place, our committee moved quickly to complete the center before we closed out the year. We are ecstatic to be able to offer this space for businesswomen.” stated Jessica Leon Guerrero chair of the women’s business center.

The WBC was an active community effort. The Guam women’s chamber of commerce would like to extend its appreciation to its sponsors: Ada’s trust, PDN, Sorensen and would like to highlight Matson, M80 Systems, the Graphic Center, and East Island Tinting, for its support to complete the space.

The WBC will be open for rental space use for business trainings, mentorship meetings, membership activities, and workspace in 2022. Stay tuned and follow the Guam Women’s Chamber of Commerce on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn or YouTube.
