Tamuning, Guam, Monday, August 8, 2022- Today, GTA officially launched the Youth Leader program for SY 2022-2023. The program is open to high school juniors and seniors and showcases youth leaders who create positive change in the community while excelling academically. The deadline to apply for the YL program is on Thursday, September 8. This year, GTA will announce and award top finalists and tap the top 2, one male and one female, as the Youth Leaders for 2022- 2023.
Nate Denight, Vice President of Marketing, says, "Our GTA Youth Leader Program is going on its fourth year, and we are excited to see our young leaders grow into successful careers. We created this program to give our youth a platform to inspire others and make meaningful connections wherever their paths take them. We can continue investing in our island's future by providing our youth these opportunities."
Eligibility: Applicants for the GTA Youth Leader Program must:
• have a 3.5 cumulative GPA- excel in academics, create a positive change
• be a Guam resident, a high school junior and senior, and enrolled in a local high school for the academic year 2022- 2023.
Benefits of a GTA Youth Leader: (Top 2)
• Enjoys a complimentary GTA mobile phone service and the latest Android or iPhone for one full academic school year.
• Obtains a $1,000 tuition scholarship.
• Receives up to 160,000 air mileage points for the school year 2022-2023 to compete in approved competitions in the arts, sports, or academics.
Requirements:
· Applicants are required to fill out an online GTA Youth Leader form.
Last school year, GTA selected Neleh Jan Leon Guerrero from Guam High, Mark Imazu from John F. Kennedy High, Grace Anne Dela Cruz from Simon Sanchez High, Elizabeth Chua from St. John’s, and Isabella Olalia from George Washington High Schools as the Youth Leaders.
