The University of Guam Endowment Foundation raised a total of $92,959 for its 2021 “G is for Giving” fundraising campaign, an annual drive that raises funds to support the university’s programs and students. The campaign, which ran from Oct. 29 to Dec. 31, raised funds through outreach efforts including a T-shirt collaboration with Opake Guam and a partnership with Micronesia Mall Stadium Theaters of Tango Inc.
“The UOG Endowment Foundation would like to thank all of the individual and group supporters who contributed to this year’s campaign as well as the student organizations, who also played a key role,” said Katrina Perez, executive director of the foundation. “These donations are a true investment in our island’s future.”
Donations were also collected through the foundation’s website and on-campus donation sites hosted by UOG student organizations. Donors had the opportunity to select a specific UOG program, school/college, or scholarship they wanted to support. Donations that did not indicate a particular cause will be distributed as “G is for Giving” scholarships in the 2022–2023 academic year.
Since its launch in 2017, the “G is for Giving” campaign has successfully raised more than $350,000 in support of University of Guam programs and students through the procurement of needed supplies or equipment, capital improvements, supporting visiting professors and lecturers, and awarding scholarships.
