Adults of all ages are invited to a six-session wellness class focused on embracing aging and cooking healthy meals. The class combines the curriculum of the Nihi ta Fanmama’tinas (Let’s Cook) and the Keys to Embracing Healthy Aging programs of University of Guam Cooperative Extension & Outreach.

The classes will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays from June 5–22 in the Agriculture & Life Sciences Building on the UOG campus. Led by Clarissa Barcinas and Katrina Macasaquit, each class will cover the following topics:

Wellness Topic: Positive Attitude and Eating Smart

Saturday, June 8

Cooking Theme: Let’s Bake!

Wellness Topic: Physical Activity and Brain Activity

Wednesday, June 12

Cooking Theme: Let’s Make Soup and Salad!

Wellness Topic: Social Activity and Tuning Into the Times

Saturday, June 15

Cooking Theme: Let’s Cook on a Budget!

Wellness Topic: Staying Safe and Stress Management

Wednesday, June 19

Cooking Theme: Let’s Cook Breakfast!

Wellness Topic: Financial Affairs and Sleep

Saturday, June 22

Cooking Theme: Let’s Cook Local!

Wellness Topic: Making Time for You

Each session has a registration fee of $10, and participants must register for all six sessions. The fee includes workshop materials and food samples.
