The University of Guam School of Engineering (SENG), with the support of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Student Chapter, invites the public and students of all majors to a special presentation on Wednesday, September 25, from 4:00 to 5:00 PM.
Dr. Hiroshan Hettiarachchi, SENG Dean, will speak on “Achieving Water Security in a Circular Economy” and showcase examples of water-upcycling, recycling, and downcycling programs around the world.
The event will take place in person at IT&E Lecture Hall Room 131 in the Jesus and Eugenia School of Business and Public Administration and online via Google Meet at https://meet.google.com/pkd-ciqm-itn.
Hettiarachchi brings 25 years of experience in civil engineering, sustainability, and waste management. Before joining UOG in 2023, he served as a professor and an academic administrator at universities in the United States and Germany. He worked with the United Nations on global sustainability initiatives. His research and capacity development work during his stint at the UN primarily focused on examining waste as a resource in the context of the water-food-energy nexus.
