The University of Guam Endowment Foundation will kick off its annual “G is for Giving” campaign with a Halloween-themed drive-through donation event from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. this Friday at its office located in House #10 of Dean’s Circle on the UOG campus. “G is for Giving” is an annual campaign to raise funds for student scholarships as well as university schools, programs, and equipment.

Since it launched in 2017, the “G is for Giving” campaign has raised more than $280,000. In those five years, more than $100,000 has been awarded to UOG students through scholarships, directly impacting their trajectory during their transformation from student to working professional.

The drive-through event will give community members an opportunity to drop off donations in person, meet the Endowment Foundation team, and receive a goody treat bag with information packets. The UOG Endowment Foundation house will be decked out in Halloween décor making it a safe, fun way to start the Halloween weekend. Families and children are welcome.

“Events and activities like this one help bring awareness to students’ financial needs as they pursue their degrees,” said Executive Director Katrina Perez. “The generous donations from the community ensure that we can continue to facilitate programs and scholarships to help UOG students achieve their higher education goals.”

Scholarship opportunities set up through the foundation by various companies, organizations, and individuals bring students opportunities to receive awards for the academic year ranging from $500 to $5,000.

For any companies or individuals interested in donating to support the University of Guam, please contact the University of Guam Endowment Foundation at (671) 735-2957 or info@uogendowment.org, or visit the website for more information.
