TUMON, Guam – Hilton Guam Resort & Spa and United Airlines are proud to bring to the island, A Taste of Shanghai. Visiting guest Chef Xie Zheng Jie will bring to the Hilton’s Islander Terrace unique flavors and spices of Sichuan cuisine.

Chef Xie Zheng Jie is the head chef of the award-winning Sichuan

Court at the Hilton Shanghai. Chef Xie has over 35 years of rich experience in cooking and is from Sichuan Chengdu. He has worked as head chef in several famous restaurants in Chengdu, Guangzhou, and Beijing. Chef Xie specializes in classic traditional Sichuan cuisine and is known to combine Sichuan and Western cooking styles to create unique flavors.

Guests can enjoy A Taste of Shanghai from November 20 – 24, 2014 at the Hilton’s Islander Terrace, 6 pm to 9 pm. “We are excited to bring something different to the Islander Terrace and it’s always a special experience with visiting guest chefs,” said Makoto “Earnie” Yasuhara, general manager, Hilton Guam Resort & Spa. Specialty dishes include camphor wood and tea smoked duck, fried king prawns with minced meat and Sichuan spicy soy sauce to braised scallops with spicy YuXian sauce plus a dim sum station. Dinner includes free flowing Tsingtao beer plus a special raffle drawing for a roundtrip ticket to Shanghai on United Airlines with hotel accommodations at the Hilton Shanghai.
