Royal Australian Air Force Group Captain Kylie Green, Task Group commander, discusses expectations of Cope North 24 with participants at Anderson Air Force Base, Guam, Feb. 5, 2024. Established initially in 1978 as a quarterly bilateral exercise held at Misawa Air Base, Japan, Cope North moved to Andersen AFB in 1999, and became a trilateral exercise in 2012 with the addition of the Royal Australian Air Force. It is the U.S. Pacific Air Forces’ largest annual multilateral exercise.
