My favorite tattoo is hands-down my left sleeve. It’s comprised of the four animals for the four cardinal directions from Korea’s version of yin and yang. It both symbolizes the direct impact that spending the formative years of my life in Korea has on me, and reminds me to strive to maintain a sense of balance in my life. The most important tattoo I have though, is the lion pawprint on my right forearm. It’s a subtle tribute to my Italian heritage, referencing the lion from my family crest. I got it as a matching tattoo with my brother after a period of separation with my family as a permanent reminder of the importance of family.
