Chairman Galito added, “The Chamber Games isn’t just about the competition. It’s designed to connect Chamber members in a lively, supportive atmosphere where they can network, bond with colleagues, and have a blast outside the usual work environment. The Chamber Games will also serve as a fundraiser for the Chamber’s scholarship program – the David J. Santos Scholarship Fund – to benefit students enrolled at the University of Guam School of Business.”
The Chamber’s Thrill of the Grill BBQ competition is also scheduled during the games. Beginning at 8:00 a.m., three teams will vie for BBQ bragging rights at the Chamber’s first-ever BBQ competition. Teams from Atkins Kroll, LeoPalace Resort Guam, Security Title, Title Guaranty of Guam, and a team sponsored by Juan Carlos Benitez will compete for cash prizes for Best Pork Ribs ($500), Best Chicken ($500), and the Overall Winner ($1,000).
“We have a deep-rooted BBQ culture here on Guam, and we wanted to honor this part of our culture. We knew we had to include a food competition as part of the games. We will have guest judges from the culinary industry doing blind tasting and judging to crown winners of our first-ever BBQ competition,” Galito added.
